I'll call this the infinity battery. I've installed them in my smart door lock in February and 3 months later it still shows 100%
I've ordered these as an upgrade to my trusty 1.2V NIMH Energizer batteries because i was suspecting they've reached their end of life but it turns out that my smart lock's motherboard was shortcircuiting. That aside, I've looked online and found out that these devices needs a 1.5V battery to work optimally and to find out that there is 1.5V rechargeable batteries that exist was mind blowing so i ordered a set of Xtar as a replacement. The batteries arrived and i was up for an unpleasant surprise, they need their own specific LI-ION charger which i ordered the next month. We're fast-forwarding to now, the charger has arrived, new set of batteries fully charged and it was time to put them to the test in the new smart lock. Batteries has been in installed since the beginning of February and as of this date they still show 100% status THIS IS MIND BLOWING! Do yourself a favor and replace all your obsolete underpowered 1.2V NIMH with XTAR and never look back.
The XTAR AAA 1.5V Li-ion 1000mAh battery has a 1.52V (out of the box). It measures 44.2mm in length and 10.2mm in diameter. I also measured a weight of 8.9g. In 285mA charging (max charge current), I measured a max input of 0.15A 12.0V (PD3.0 XTAR VX4 charger). At a continuous discharge current of 2.5A, I measured an output power of 4.2W. The voltage of the battery remains above 1.5V regardless of the discharge current. At 2.8A, the overcurrent protection triggered instantly and disabled the output to prevent damage to the cell and PCB. I'm pleasantly surprised by the battery's max supported instantaneous (peak) discharge current. After testing them with flashlights, TV remote controls, a soap dispenser, an RC car controller, and a wireless mouse, I can say that they provide long-term power for AAA-powered devices. Bought these as an upgrade to my existing Xtar AAA's. Needed that litte bit more power! They perform well, hold charge in a colder environment for an alarm. Make sure you have or choose the right charger! I use the Xtar L8 8 slot charger. This does AA's too. Best to buy there 45w power supply/charger to plug into the L8 if you don't already have one as it does not come with one.
Great for 1,5 v voltage and recharge cycle times. The EMI issue is a problem with radio controlled clocks, even if near if them.
Started to use XTAR 1.5V AA's and AAA's in everything that consumes batteries at home.
Perfect replacement for devices that require 1.5V, where regular NiMH battery voltage immediately cause low battery alarms due to the standard low output voltage of 1.2V My older BC4 charger had some difficulty charging these new 1620mWh batteries when discharged. No problems with my new L4 Pro charger.
My new default go-to long-life AAA rechargeable 1.5V li-ion battery. As used in multiples of 4 within C type battery adaptors for constant 1.5V.
