FAQ about 1.5V AA 4150mWh battery
1. Is the battery safe?
Yes. The rechargeable 4150mWh AA lithium battery is equipped with a built-in 3-in-1 smart chip. It enables intelligent charging and discharging management and multiple protections of over-discharge, short circuit, over temperature and more. Also it has LED indicators for timely charging, full charged and discharge abnormal indication. At the same time, the lithium battery is anti-leakage, anti-corrosion.
Battery capacity (mAh) defines the amount of charge stored by the battery. It is the maximum power that the battery can be used, more useful for the battery runtime. Battery energy (mWh) is the value of mAh multiplied by voltage, which determines what kind of device the battery can drive. It is a dynamic concept. It is the actual power of the battery in a certain state. Just like a reservoir, its storage capacity remains constant, but its actual water volume is dynamic.
A battery with a marked capacity of mAh can emit different amounts of electricity under different discharge currents. The higher the current, the less energy can be released. This is caused by polarization inside the battery. Therefore, when discussing the battery life, you should also consider the discharge rate performance.
Convert the capacity mAh to mWh,it is 2500mAh x 1.5V=3750mWh, not the rated 4150mWh.
What’s the reason:
The formula of “Voltage x mAh capacity=mWh energy”only works on 3.6/3.7V lithium-ion batteries. For the rechargeable 1.5V lithium-ion battery, there is a conversion loss due to the built-in voltage regulator circuit, typically estimated to be around 8% to 10%. Therefore, the discharging energy of the XTAR 4150mWh AA lithium battery is around 4150mWh*90%=3735mWh. That means, the energy after fully charging is 4150mWh, but it would be less in discharging due to the conversion loss.
There are two ways. One is discharging test with professional grading machine or electronic load under constant current, and then calculate the capacity with discharging time integration. The other one is discharging test by connecting a 3 ohm or 5W+ resistor to the terminals of the battery, then calculate the capacity with ampere-hour integral method.
Firstly, the battery must be fully charged. If you test twice but get different results, it may due to the different battery saturation. XTAR’s battery low-voltage detection function is set with the voltage of around 1.1V, and there is some power can be discharged. So the cut-off voltage should be set under 0.8V, to count in the rest power under 1.1V. In addition, the test deviation should also be count in. XTAR’s battery capacity lower limit is 2420mAh at 0.5A.
The discharge operating temperature range for XTAR 1.5V lithium batteries is -20°C to 60°C.
5. Which devices do 1.5V lithium batteries work for and which devices do they not work for?
1.5V lithium batteries are generally suitable for most of the devices that use AA/AAA NiMH and dry batteries, especially those that require fast power consumption and stable power supply, such as wireless microphones, VR controllers, game controllers, RC toys, etc. They are also suitable for devices that are frequently used and require a large number of batteries, such as trail cameras, multimeters, sound mixers, Guitar amplifiers and so on.
1.5V lithium batteries are not suitable for electronic clocks because they have a higher power output, resulting in faster battery consumption and need for frequent battery replacements. Not suitable for radios due to the noise caused by electromagnetic interference.
6. What are the advantages compared with AA NiMH batteries?
Compared with AA NiMH batteries, the main advantage of rechargeable 1.5V AA lithium-ion batteries is their ability to provide a continuous 1.5V high-voltage output, stable performance, fast charging, and no memory effect.
7. What happens when XTAR 4150mWh 1.5V rechargeable lithium battery runs out of power?
The XTAR 4150mWh AA lithium battery has a low-battery reminder function. When you use it on your device that also have the low-battery alert like smart locks, VRs, GPS, you will get the reminder in time. If you use the battery on flashlights, you can also find the light is dimming when the power is low.

Nice rechargeable batteries,Last Super Longer
I have many of these batteries both AA and AAA, i use the AA in my hand soap dispensers and the low voltage function works really well with them. The lights blinks and there is enough life left to keep using until you see the low battery indicator or get to charge them. Charging is fast in the dedicated charger. The AAA version i use in my wireless remotes as it gives me advance notice they are needing a charge with the low battery indicator on the appliance. You can get caught out with the AAA on some torches as it will not light due to the protection circuit kicking in. Though it is only a couple of torches i tested that did this. These batteries have a low self discharge. I have used 3 other brands and they seem to run out of power in a month on my soap dispensers, these ran a lot longer. I recommend these batteries, they do the job. The low battery voltage output is unique and it works. They last over a year in a torch or remote as they do indeed have a slow discharge. Price is OK. The only issue if getting them. I have had to buy direct now.
Very good! Thank you!
Thanks!
