I have tried this charger on XTAR AA 1.5 Li batteries, 18650/21700/26650 LiIon, 1.5v AA/AAA NiMH and this charger handles them all. It recognizes and auto selects the proper batteries and charge current and it is super simple and easy to use.
I also tried another brand of AA Li batteries that I borrowed from a friend to see if the charger could recognize and charge another brand of Li batteries and, although the batteries got a bit hot, it still charged them. I wish I could select the charge current or at least see it displayed, but the documentation states that it will do either .5A or 1A depending on the slot used so I have to assume the charge current is no greater than that.
Al in all, I am quite impressed with this 8 slot charger.
