Why Should You Buy Rechargeable 1.5V Lithium AA Batteries?
If you use battery-powered devices that require a reliable and high-voltage power supply, you know how frustrating it can be to deal with frequent battery changes or voltage fluctuations. Alkaline and NiMH batteries, while widely available and affordable, may not provide the consistent and long-lasting performance you need, especially in demanding conditions. That's where rechargeable 1.5V Lithium AA batteries come in. In this article, we'll explore the benefits of Lithium AA batteries for power-hungry devices, share some customer stories about their experiences with these batteries, and offer some tips on how to choose and use them effectively.
Basic information on rechargeable 1.5V Lithium AA Batteries
It's important to note that these batteries are not true 1.5V batteries, but instead use a voltage boost circuit to achieve the 1.5V output. These batteries provide stable and consistent 1.5 volts of power output throughout their life cycle, which makes them ideal for devices that require a constant power supply.Let’s see the specifications of the rechargeable XTAR 1.5V Lithium-ion AA battery.
- Energy: 3300mWh
- Output Voltage: 1.5V constant voltage
- Max continuous discharge current: 2000mA
- Working Temperature: -20-60℃
- Cycle life: ≥1000 times
- Positive Pole (Button/Flat): Button Top
- Net weight: 19g
- Size: Φ14.5±0.3mm X H50±0.5mm
From the above data, we can know that the rechargeable 1.5V li-ion AA battery has at least 5 key features. It has high power output and a much longer cycle life and can work in extreme temperatures. In addition, it is lighter than NiMH AA batteries.
And don't forget that lithium-ion cells have a much lower self-discharge rate.
Customer stories of 1.5V Lithium AA Battery Benefits
To illustrate the benefits of rechargeable lithium AA batteries in real-life situations, here are a few customer stories. For Wireless Cameras
The primary benefit of Lithium batteries is their ability to maintain 1.5v throughout the life cycle and while being discharged. Alkaline and NiMH are more prone to having issues with voltage fluctuation. Especially with cheaper quality batteries.Battery-powered devices like, in my case, wireless cameras, require Lithium batteries to maintain that 1.5v even outside in winter. Put some rechargeable batteries outside in winter and watch them stop working where Lithium’s will continue to provide adequate current and voltage. So that’s what I’m using these for.
Lithium AA batteries provide reliable power even in harsh conditions, while rechargeable NiMH batteries may stop working.
For Oculus Rift S Controller
I also have an Oculus Rift S controller that requires higher voltage to track correctly. I’ve owned many controllers over the years and this is the first to have this problem. With ordinary NiMH batteries, it would frequently lose tracking and get worse as the batteries discharge. It took months for me to connect the dots. With lithium AA batteries, the controller works better, and the higher voltage ensures accurate tracking. For Xbox Controllers
One benefit from using these I recently noticed is they’re significantly lighter than NiMH rechargeable batteries. At least the ones I use. That’s nice, because I prefer a lighter controller if I can help it. So I started using them in my Xbox controllers. I’m slowly replacing all the NiMH batteries with these. The net weight of rechargeable 1.5V lithium AA batteries and 1.2V NiMH AA batteries varies depending on the specific brand and model. However, generally, rechargeable 1.5V lithium AA batteries are lighter than 1.2V NiMH AA batteries.
The weight of a single rechargeable 1.5V lithium AA battery is typically around 14-16 grams, while a single 1.2V NiMH AA battery weighs around 25-30 grams. This weight difference is due to the higher energy density of rechargeable 1.5V lithium batteries, which allows them to store more energy in a smaller and lighter package compared to 1.2V NiMH batteries.
For Electric Toothbrush
I also started using these in my electric toothbrush. The big problem with the NiMH batteries in the toothbrush was the electric motor was obviously operating at a lower RPM, and like all my other devices, I was clueless as to why. Yeah, the voltage again. These batteries seem great for battery-powered toothbrushes or things that need 1.5 volts constant. A NiMH battery is 1.2 volts so the toothbrush won’t have the oomph needed to oscillate to its max. By using rechargeable 1.5V lithium AA batteries, the electric toothbrush operates at maximum RPM, providing a thorough cleaning.
For AA Flashlight
I did a test to see just how effective these batteries are with a UV light I have. I set the light in the same spot, pointing at the same spot, under the same conditions. One with these batteries fully charged, the other with a set of Powerex Ni-MH 2600's. I tried to take a picture standing in the same spot. But you can clearly see the Lithium beam is brighter than the Ni-MH beam is.It has the same result in devices requiring more than one battery.
For a device that requires 6 volts, if you use 4 pieces of 1.5V lithium batteries, then you only need to connect them in series, which is just in line with the power demand (4 x 1.5 = 6). If you replace these batteries with 4 pieces of Ni-MH AA rechargeable batteries, then only 4.8 volts will be supplied to the device (4 x 1.2 = 4.8), which could obviously result in reduced performance in high-drain devices.
There are also many good reviews when using the 1.5V li-ion aa and aaa batteries in other devices, such as RC cars, kids' electric toys, smart door locks, blink cameras, etc.
Conclusion
In conclusion, although rechargeable 1.5V Lithium AA batteries are more expensive than Alkaline and NiMH batteries, their long-term cost-effectiveness and reliability make them a worthwhile investment. As demonstrated by customer stories, these batteries provide reliable power in harsh conditions and can even improve the performance of certain devices that require higher voltage. If you are looking for a reliable and long-lasting power source for your power-hungry devices, consider making the switch to rechargeable 1.5V Lithium AA batteries. Don't settle for subpar performance – upgrade to Lithium AA batteries today.
